Other Ways to Get Involved

Pennies from Heaven is a great way to give 'small change for a big change'. It works by rounding down your salary to the nearest pound, with the pennies being donated to The EY Foundation. 

For example, if your net pay was £1,850.34 then 34p would be donated. The most you can ever give is 99p every time you are paid and the best bit is HMRC will donate an extra 25% to your donation - resulting in even more vital funds going to support young people. By pooling our pennies together, we could collectively raise a huge amount. If everyone in EY UK (both Financial Services and UK & Ireland) gave an average of 49p per month, this could result in a potential income of over £99,000 for the EY Foundation. 

• £99,000 could provide 2 weeks’ paid work experience for 143 young people from low-income households 
• £99,000 could pay for 600 young people to gain a Level 2 accreditation 
• £99,000 could pay for NSPCC training for 2,750 volunteer mentors.

Payroll giving is a great way to make a donation before tax is deducted from your salary, which means you give more for less. For example, if you pay standard rate tax and donate £10, it will cost you just £8 – the taxman will pay the rest! Having a regular income of unrestricted funds can help a charity like The EY Foundation plan and prepare for the future and unforeseen events like the COVID crisis.  

You can sign up to the Give As You Earn scheme in order to make monthly tax-free donations to charity. There are two options to choose from: 

• You can choose to create your own charity account which enables you to donate to charities of your choice when you like. 
• You can choose to make automatic monthly payments to a specific charity of your choice on a monthly basis, tax free. 

You pay less and our charity receives more.
